- Blogs for Events:
The article specifically discusses the use of blogs for non-profits. A number of reasons are given on why blogs offer “a cost-effective solution for non-profits to promote, cover, discuss and wrap up events”. What libraries can do is to make use of blogs to promote their programmes and events, and if possible, put up the powerpoint slides. It’s also possible to podcast or videocast the programmes and events (with the permission of the speakers). This might generate more hype of the types of programmes and events that is organized in the libraries.

- Tips for Mastering E-mail Overload:
From the Harvard Business School - Working Knowledge, an online newsletter. I learnt about the proper ways in forwarding and replying to emails. The last point raised is to “Ignore It” and I like the reason why she says we can ignore the emails: “if it’s not important enough for them to tear their gaze away from the hypnotic world of Microsoft Windows, it’s certainly not important enough for you to take the time to read”. Have a read and it might help you improve the quality of your replies to e-mails and be able to convey your messages across clearly and more effectively.
