Hi everyone, here’s wishing you a belated Merry Christmas! And also a Happy New Year in a few days’ time. Hope everyone will have a good and fun year in 2006.
Anyway, here’s a paper written by Judith Pearce (with Janifer Gatenby) of the National Library of Australia on “New Frameworks for Resource Discovery and Delivery”.
It’s an interesting look at how the libraries can play a role in this exciting digital world that we are moving into. There is also a case study of Libraries Australia where they are planning to seed library catalogue entries into Internet search engines. So, when anyone is looking for a certain term or phrase, they’ll also be searching the library’s catalogue. What a unique way to introduce non-users of the library to the wonders of resources available in the library.
