This article in the New York Times cites a study done by Jupiter Research where 31% of Internet users who read magazines less frequently as compared to 37% who read books less frequently. The study also says that Internet users are more likely to buy magazines even though most magazines are now available for reading online.(Free registration required)

This is an online searchable database designed to help visitors find new books for children, teens and families. It currently has about 9,000 new and forthcoming titles from about 120 publishers. New titles are added weekly

A short-term topical blog that has generated good mileage in terms of marketing for the library hosting it. Might be a good idea for us to generate topical/subject blogs to expand on the content creation aspect for librarians.
