  • Putting Radio and Reading Together
A Montana US library director came up with the idea to marry radio and reading together. She worked with radio stations to come up with a radio programme that included live call-in and book discussion of regional literature. Now she will be awarded the Allie Beth Martin award by ALA. The Allie Beth Martin award is given to “a librarian who, in a public library setting, has demonstrated extraordinary range and depth of knowledge about books or other library materials and has distinguished ability to share that knowledge.” (from the ALA: Awards & Sponsorship page)
