• The Library: Next Best Thing to an MBA
An article in BusinessWeek looking at how public libraries in the United States are helping entrepreneurs with resources and expert guidance. I really hope that entrepreneurs in Singapore see our public libraries as a rich resource in helping them pursue their dreams. There are many business books and digital resources that you can access in the public libraries that would aid you in coming up with your business plans and strategies. On the other hand, I would like to see our public libraries do even more to help this group of users as we always seem to be concentrating on those in school. And we would also need to build up the capacity and knowledge to assist the would-be entrepreneurs.

  • Dick and Lynne Cheney @ The Library
An interview with the Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney, and his wife, Lynne about their courtship days. Apparently, they spent quite a lot of time in Carnegie Library (in Casper, Wyoming, USA), when they were both in high school, though they were not together then. He would be in the history section and her in the fiction section.
