- WPopac is Official
Maison Bisson has revealed that his library has been using WPopac since February 2006. On the basic level, it’s the use of WordPress, a blogging software, as a Web Catalogue. It allows for comments and reviews to be posted by readers. There is also Technorati tags for easy searching. His library plans to release the source code for WPopac in the near future. Would be good to see if we can use this for our Web Catalogue.

- Robert Scoble Visits a Library
Famous blogger, Robert Scoble, talks about his visit with his family to the Redmond Public Library on a very hot day. He was impressed with the library as there was an area to talk and the free WiFi. Library Stuff feels that libraries should hire evangelists to blog about them, just like what Scoble did for Microsoft previously, as it opens up to the public and creates awareness of the library. For the public libraries, particularly the Adult and Young People’s Services, we have a couple of blogs that help with creating awareness such as High Browse Online and ASK!. UPDATE: We have one more blog called Digi.Talk which I’ve missed out.

Hi Isaak:
I didn’t know about the two blogs that your library uses. I’m going to add them to my listings of library blogs.

Hi Steven:
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Those 2 blogs are by the Public Library Services. Well, there are actually 3 by us which I've just added to the post.
There is another blog by the Reference Library that lists past and upcoming programmes and exhibitions.
