- Library Park Being Built for Outdoor Reading
Currently in Florida, the Weston Branch Library of the Broward County Libraries is building a $1.5 million Library Park on a 5.8-acre site (about 27,400 square metres) south of the library and the park is scheduled to be completed next year. The park would have benches, lighting and walkways/exercise paths and the park would be like an extension of the library. In Singapore, due to space constraints, we have built gardens into the open spaces of the National Library Building at Victoria Street on some floors, which the public can make use of.
(via LISNews) - Creating your own M&M candies
Masterfoods USA has introduced a new service that allows companies to feature their logos or messages on M&M candies. I think this is a good way for libraries to make some customised candies to give out to children as part of a library promotion or print a message to encourage reading. However, I’m not too sure what parents would make out of this with the increase in obesity amongst the young. Unfortunately, this customised M&M candies programme is only available in the US though there are plans to introduce it to other countries early next year.

Well, I think we can learn from a couple of the 9 tactics suggested. I personally like “The Glided Edge” and “Educate Your Buyer”. Can you think of ways to implement the tactics in the library?
