Writer and actress Phyllis Cerf Wagner died last Friday in hospital following complications after a fall at home. She was the founder of the Beginner Books imprint at Random House that published many books by children’s author Dr Seuss.

A profile of Debra Davis, a former high school librarian. She is featured as a success story during the first annual Trangender Awareness Week held 13-17 November in Minnesota. And I love this statement -Besides being one of the busiest days in the high school library, Davis said that Monday was the only day that year when not one student was suspended for behavior. “So if schools want no more suspensions, the obvious thing to do is hire more transgender librarians,” Davis joked.”
