UPDATE - 23 December 2006: Added a couple more news reports.

J.K. Rowling has just revealed the title to the seventh and final installment of Harry Potter. For some fun, you can go to her website to play a game that would eventually reveal the title. And if you are having trouble with the game, you can peruse the spoilers here. (via Strollerderby)

You can also read some of the recent news reports on the unveiling of the title of the book:
- “Final Harry Title Revealed” (The Guardian) (via LISNews)
- “Title of Harry Potter 7 Revealed” (BBC News)
- “Final ‘Harry Potter’ Title Announced” (Topix.net)
- “Final Harry Potter title revealed in web puzzle” (Times Online)
- “Author reveals Potter’s last writes” (The Australian)
- “Will Harry die? Deathly fears as final Potter title revealed” (Channel NewsAsia)

The book is expected out in early 2007 though no exact date has been given. Am sure my wife would be one of the first to go pre-order the book and then spend the whole day reading from cover to cover once she gets it. And hopefully, the library would be able to get enough copies for everyone to read. For those who want to read or re-read the past Harry Potter books, they are available in our libraries under the call number J ROW (that’s in the Children’s Section) or you can use the online catalogue to search.

And to break the suspense of those who can’t be bothered to either play the game or click on the news links, the title of the last Harry Potter book is ….
*drum roll* Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
