Anime Club Brings Teens to Library
Monticello Library in the United States has been very successful in attracting teens to the library. Their secret weapon?! An Anime Club!! (Read news report from the Monticello Times for more details)
The Anime Club is a pilot programme by the Great River Regional Library. The club meets once a month to watch an anime movie, eat Japanese tidbits and basically gather together over the common interest of all things anime. The Anime Club is currently run at three branches of the Great River Regional Library system.
Maybe NLB should introduce something similar in addition to teens book club as well as the rap and rock bands performances that we currently have at V.A.T.. Am sure we already have the resources of the graphic novels and movies in our libraries.
