33 Reasons Why Librarians Are Still Extremely Important
Just a couple of days ago, I wrote about the possible demise of the librarian.
Now, DegreeTutor.com has written a rather long article with 33 reasons why librarians are still extremely important.
I’ve got to agree with all 33 points the writer, Will Sherman, has given. I’ll highlight those that I feel are the reasons why I believe librarians will always be around.
- 1. Not everything is available on the internet
- 4. The internet complements libraries, but it doesn’t replace them
- 19. The internet isn’t DIY
- 21. Librarians are the irreplaceable counterparts to web moderators
- 23. The internet is a mess
- 28. Libraries are stable while the web is transient
and the one I feel it’s most important- 33. Old books are valuable
