- Gaming Librarian Recruited
The University Library of McMaster University has recently added the position of Immersive Learning (Gaming) Librarian. From the press release, the librarian’s primary responsibility is “exploring, creating, supporting and promoting library resources through gaming and virtual worlds. In particular, he brings strong technical skills; library experience; grant writing; classroom teaching experience; and, of course, a personal interest in gaming”. Sounds like a super fun job to working in. Think I need to get back in WoW and Second Life. :)

- Library shifts its attention from rowdy to well-behaved teenagers
A wonderful idea! It seems like we’re always looking at how to ensure that our readers don’t behave badly in the libraries. Maybe we should just reward those who are well-behaved instead and hopefully, it’ll provide enough incentive as well as peer pressure for readers to behave appropriately in libraries.
