Quite a coincidence that I chanced upon this after watching a slideshow of photos of a friend’s holiday in Egypt. Unfortunately, the tour he was in only brought them to see loads of temples, sphinxes and pyramids and not the site of the Great Library of Alexandria.

Anyway, Alexandrine Librarian is written by Larry Greenwood, a retired academic librarian. The story is written in a blog format and chronicles the life of Yarri, a librarian working in the Great Library of Alexandria in early 5th century. Gives you an insight to what life of a librarian could be in those times.

You might also want to read a little about the “Great Library of Alexandria” on Wikipedia.
