Winners of Commonwealth Fiction Prizes
A novel each from Canada and New Zealand have won awards at the 21st Commonwealth Writers’ prizes.
New Zealander Lloyd Jones’ novel Mister Pip bagged the top prize of £10,000 while Canadian DY Péchard won the first book award for his novel Vandal Love and was award £5,000.
The prizes aim to promote English language fiction to a global audience. Previous winners include Peter Carey, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Andrea Levy.
